WIND WINNOWING HELP FARMERS IN RUVUMA TO MAINTAIN QUALITY OF SOYBEAN

Wind winnowing is an agricultural method developed by ancient cultures for separating grain from chaff. Soya ni Pesa Project emphasis farmers in using wind winnowing as a local method of cleaning soybean harvested. To attract buyers soybean must be clean and free from dust. Farmers from Kazamoyo group used winnowing to their produce to maintain a clean product. Kazamoyo group is located in Mawa Village from Namtumbo district and have total number of 19 members who participated in group farming. Project staffs train farmers in doing winnowing to maintain quality product to meet buyers demand during the collective market organized by Soya ni Pesa Project.
